CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THE FAIR!
Welcome to the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair!

What is the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair?

To provide all students in Ohio with an opportunity to qualify for Intel ISEF, The Ohio Academy of Science will hold the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF) on April 6, 2019. This fair will be available to all Ohio students who qualify through a District Science Day. The Ohio Academy of Science is able to provide the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair because of the generous support it receives from CAS (host), Ethicon-Endo Surgery, and AEP Foundation. Currently, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (or Intel ISEF) is one of the largest and most prestigious science fairs in the world for pre-college students. Each year over more than 1,700 students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories around the world, will compete for $5 million in awards and scholarships.

Important Student Registration Information

The deadline for BSEF registration is the Tuesday (by 11:59 pm) following the District Science Day. You have 3 days to complete the registration information. For example, a student from District 15 (March 23), will have until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, March 26 to register for BSEF. Students who register via this site after their appointed deadline may have their registration canceled.

Only students that qualify through a District Science Day may register for the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair

Qualifying for the BSEF

Students will qualify for the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF) through their District Science Days. Each District Science Day will be allocated a number of students (grades 9-12) that can qualify and register for the BSEF. These students will then be able to compete at the BSEF for an opportunity to qualify for the Intel ISEF (May 13-17, Phoenix, Ariz.) The BSEF will select a total of six (6) projects for the Intel ISEF.
