CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THE FAIR!
Welcome to the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair!
What is the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair?
The Buckeye Science & Engineering Fair (BSEF) will be an online event for 2021.
To provide all students in Ohio with an opportunity to qualify for Intel ISEF, The Ohio Academy of Science will hold the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF). The Ohio Academy of Science is able to provide the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair because of the generous support it receives from CAS (host) and AEP Foundation.
Currently, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (or Intel ISEF) is one of the largest and most prestigious science fairs in the world for pre-college students. Each year over more than 1,700 students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories around the world, will compete for $5 million in awards and scholarships.
Qualifying for the BSEF
New for 2021, students will be able to register for the BSEF without having to qualify through District Science Day. Projects from grades 9-12 will be eligible for registration. The registration requirements for BSEF will be separate and independent from District Science Day. For students wishing to register for both BSEF and District Science Day, it will require two, separate registrations along with completing STEM Wizard milestones for each fair.
Save the Date
The BSEF will operate as an online competition and the registration fee will be $25 per student.
The registration deadline is March 1, 2021
Judging will take place in two rounds.
The results of the 1st round will be announced on March 23, 2020. At that time the 2nd round finalists will be posted and notified.
The 2nd round of judging will take place on Saturday, March 27. During this 2nd round of judging, finalists will present in real time to a panel of judges via Zoom with a follow up of Q & A.
